About Mountain Climbing

 
Mountain Climbing (Iceland Hiking) is a family company in Reykjavik, Iceland. It was founded in spring 2006 and offers easy hiking tours to mountains close to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, and other tours, both according to schedule and tailor-made tours with personal guidance according to your wishes!

Founder and main guide, private guide and driver guide is Gudrun Helga Sigurdardottir. She has university education in journalism and political science from Helsinki, Finland. She has been working as a journalist in Iceland since 1993. She speaks English, Swedish and even some Finnish and Danish. She understands Norwegian.

Assistant guide is Fridrik Fridriksson.He is an architect in Reykjavik, Iceland. He has university education from Finland and speaks English, Scandinavian and even some Finnish.

Assistant guide is Kjartan Emil Sigurdsson. He has education from the University of Iceland, is an edcated guide and a hiking guide. He speaks German, English and Scandinavian.

All three of them have advanced driver‘s license and first aid courses.

Mountain Climbing is also working under the name Iceland Hiking and will be opening a new website, www.icelandhiking.is.


Company policy

Mountain Climbing respects the nature and the Icelandic history. The company has green tourism as policy. Our aim is to not leave any marks in the nature. We pick up litter when we see it.

Hiking is one of the best things to keep fit and healthy. Mountain Climbing is aware of your health and wants to support you in taking care of it. One of the best things for your health is mountain hiking in Iceland.

Mountain Climbing has a social awareness as a company. We try to support our community, e.g. by participating in local cooperation and investing in local companies.
